Several organisations support cutting-edge research through the FWF and thus help kick-start research projects for a better future. Currently, researchers can submit promising project proposals within the framework of four calls.
Thanks to the support of private partners, top researchers can pursue their research ideas on a world-class level. Four calls are currently open for submissions:
- ASMET– The Austrian Society for Metallurgy and Materials – supports leading-edge researchers in the fields of metallurgy and materials development. The call is open until 30 June 2020. You can find more information here.
- The Dr. Gottfried and Dr. Vera Weiss Science Foundation is looking this year to support researchers in the field of meteorology and related disciplines with a meteorological focus. The call is open until 30 June 2020. You can find more information here.
- The Herzfelder Family Foundation supports research projects in the field of biochemical/medical cell research. The call is open until 30 June 2020. You can find more information here.
- The netidee SCIENCE of the Internet Foundation Austria (IPA) offers funding to researchers interested in contributing to the further development and safety of the Internet in Austria. The call is open until 17 May 2020. You can find more information here.
The common goal is to use the possibilities presented by basic research to assume social responsibility and find forward-looking answers to fundamental problems.
