Restructuring of the cooperation arrangement
Since 2012, the FWF, together with the Hungarian funding organisation NKFIH (National Research, Development and Innovation Office) and its predecessor OTKA, has been funding closely integrated research projects (“joint projects”) of researchers from Austrian and Hungary.
Both organisations are now planning to restructure the bilateral cooperation arrangement which is scheduled to go into effect at the beginning of 2021. The aim of reorganising the bilateral project funding is to create a framework that ensures more equal contributions on the part of the two parties. Researchers will still be able to cooperate on research projects from all fields of scientific and scholarly research.
Proposals as part of the current call for proposals can still be submitted to the FWF as lead agency until 15 May 2020. Further information on the restructuring of the cooperation arrangement will be announced later this year.
