No matter whether it be city, state, science center, school or on social media – the FWF supports researchers who seek out innovative new ways of communicating about science to the tune of up to €50,000. Researchers from all disciplines have until 12 September 2019 to submit proposals for projects that successfully communicate science and research to the Science Communication Programme (WissKomm).

The programme supports initiatives that aim to communicate the content of FWF-funded research projects to the public, schools, media, politicians and the scientific community in the best way possible. Funded projects are intended to help increase public awareness of science and research as well as the importance of basic research.

In order to be eligible for funding, applicants must have an approved FWF-funded research project at the time of submission or have completed an FWF project no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The content of the communication project must be directly related to the content of the underlying FWF-funded research project

A maximum of €50,000 can be requested for a period of up to one year. Applications are to be prepared in accordance with the guidelines and submitted to the FWF both as a hard copy (date of postmark) as well as electronically via email (date of receipt of email) by 12 September 2019 (submission deadline).
