Austrian Open Access Agreement with Publisher Springer

By an agreement of the Austrian Academic Library Consortium KEMÖ and the Austrian Science Fund FWF with the academic publisher Springer, researchers from Austria have now the option of publishing their research open access in more than 1,600 journals without article processing charges. That is the second deal of this kind worldwide and accelerates the transformation to Open Access in academic publishing.

The FWF's Assembly of Delegates has elected Pascale Ehrenfreund as the organisation's next president. In addition, the three vice-presidents on the FWF's Executive board have been elected. The new board will take over for the team led by Christoph Kratky in September 2013.
