ERA-Nets
ERA-Net FLAG-ERA
Objective
The participating national and regional funding organisations (NRFOs) have joined together to form the “Flagship ERA-NET” platform, or FLAG-ERA, with the goal of supporting the “Future Emerging Technologies” (FET) Flagship initiatives “Graphene” and the “Human Brain Project (HBP)”. The platform also aims to support the four non-selected pilots to continue to progress towards their goals. The main objective of FLAG-ERA is to pave the way for excellent European researchers, so they can collaborate across national borders on very ambitious research projects. The NRFOs coordinate the framework and align their thematic programmes with the needs of the initiatives. At least three partners from at least three different countries are expected to participate in the resulting transnational calls. The selected projects are then supported in the respective country by funds from both the NRFOs participating in the call and the EU. Besides combining synergies, ERA-NET also organises networking events, not just within the research community, but with other stakeholders such as industry, too. The French Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR) is responsible for the coordination of FLAG-ERA.
