The Department of Nutritional Sciences is looking for a PhD student to take part in a project in the field of molecular nutrition. The project concerns the impact of restrictive diets on the gastrointestinal tract and involves the analysis of inflammatory factors, microbiota, and metabolomics. The candidate is required to have basic skills in molecular biology laboratory techniques, statistical analysis, and fluent English. Upon hiring, the student is expected to perform analyses using qRT-PCR, western blot, HPLC, histology, and to work with a mouse model.

The contract duration is 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1,5 years and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months. An extension up to a total of 4 years is then possible provided the excellent performance of the candidate.
Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
